SACPCMP Forensic Investigation

ACHASM would like to notify its members that the SACPCMP has launched a forensic investigation into alleged corrupt and unethical activities by employees and external assessors.  The investigation will be carried out by a reputable independent firm and has already been set in motion.  It must also be noted that the investigation is not limited to the health & safety division of the SACPCMP but involves the wider project and construction manager sector as well.

We would further encourage our members to divulge any such corrupt or unethical activities to us or directly to the SACPCMP for investigation in an effort to uphold the integrity of our profession and to root out those individuals who intend to undermine our values and put the lives of construction workers at undue risk

"Towards better Safety, Health, Well-being, and Life in Construction"

Construction constitutes a challenge in terms of ergonomics as it requires work above shoulder level and below waist height. Furthermore, designers are required to consider ergonomics throughout all stages of projects. A range of client, designer, construction project manager, quantity surveyor, contractor, and material manufacturer / supplier interventions can complement construction ergonomics. Furthermore, the draft Ergonomics Regulations published for public comment on 27 January 2017, amplify the need for the construction industry to focus on ergonomics.
